SWOT Analysis

SWOT is an acronym that stands for Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. (Guthrie, 2022), and is a self-assessment, planning tool for analysing professional projects and business ventures that can be identified and evaluate personal goals. Using the results to implement actions effectively discovering where you want to go, how you will get there, and what will get in your way.

As a working tool, the analysis should be completed regularly as every time one is completed the information will be different and is a simple but effective way of understanding internal and external factors.

The swot analysis in figure 1 was completed by the make-up artist in September 2021 and highlights what needs to be prioritised by understanding the weaknesses and threats, working throughout the academic year to turn weaknesses into strengths and potential threats into opportunities.
